Petit Cossette's Katsura to Launch Shinwa Punch, Bishōnen Meigen-Shū
posted on by Egan Loo
Asuka Katsura, the artist best known for drawing the Blood+ and Le Portrait de Petit Cossette manga and creating the HoneyComb manga, is launching two new manga called Shinwa Punch and Bishōnen Meigen-Shū in the next two months. Shinwa Punch (Mythic Punch) will launch in this year's eighth issue of Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine for young men on April 3. This coming-of-age romantic comedy revolves around a subservient young man named Deigo Arigata whose motto is "love servitude, live with servitude." Then one day, some cute but somewhat rowdy Greek goddesses appear before him, and from that day forward, Deigo's once servile life is transformed. Among other titles, Young Gangan publishes Saki, Kurokami (Black God), Dragon Quest Retsuden: Emblem of Roto: To the Children who inherit the Emblem-, and Bamboo Blade.
On May 8, Katsura will launch Bishōnen Meigen-Shū (Collection of Famous Bishonen Sayings) in the 57th volume of Ohta Books' Manga Erotics F magazine. This magazine also publishes the Aoi Hana high school yuri manga and the Ristorante Paradiso manga about life in an Italian restaurant. Bishōnen Meigen-Shū is an anthology of quirky comedy stories that use "enigmatic bishōnen" to illustrate and act out a different literary expression in each issue.
Dark Horse Comics just finished publishing the Blood+ manga in North America last month, while Tokyopop published the two volumes of Le Portrait de Petit Cossette. Yen Press publishes both Black God and Bamboo Blade.
