posted on by Egan Loo
The December issue (on sale on November 18) of Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine will announce that a television series adaptation of Jun Mochizuki's Pandora Hearts supernatural action manga has been green-lit. The story centers on Oz Bezarius, an heir to one of the four great duke houses of a fantasy land. His life changes completely at his coming-of-age ceremony when he is thrown into the Abyss prison. Then, a "Chain" creature in the form of a bloodstained black rabbit named Alice helps him escape and he gets involved in a mysterious group called Pandora. The manga has been running in Monthly G Fantasy since 2006, and six volumes have been compiled and published so far.
Takao Kato (Buso Renkin, Compiler, To Love-Ru) will direct the animators at Xebec on the project. Mayori Sekijima (Angel Sanctuary, MoonPhase, Video Girl Ai) is supervising the scripts, while Chizuru Kobayashi (Buso Renkin's opening animation) and Shinichi Yamaoka (Candidate for Goddess, D.N.Angel, Mizuiro Jidai) are designing the characters.
