Battle Royale Soundtrack to be Sold in U.S. Digitally
posted on by Egan Loo
The Milan Records label will be releasing the original soundtrack to Kinji Fukasaku's live-action Battle Royale film in American digital music stores on July 22. Masamichi Amano composed the music for this adaptation of Koushun Takami's controversial novel. The soundtrack will be available in Amazon.com, iTunes, and other online stores.
In the film and the original novel, the Japanese government forces a group of high school students to kill each other off until only one remains. Viz Media released the original novel, while Tokyopop released Masayuki Taguchi's manga version. Amano also composed the music in dozens of anime titles, including Giant Robo, Princess Nine, Super Atragon, Urotsukidoji, and Urusei Yatsura.
