XXXHOLiC Manga to Have 2-DVD Anime in Japan Next Year (Update 3)
posted on by Egan Loo
The Hoshino book retailer is listing a limited edition of the 14th volume of CLAMP's xxxHOLiC manga that will ship with a bundled original animation DVD in Japan on January 16 of next year. The retailer also indicates that this DVD is the first of two DVDs. The new anime will feature Clamp's writer Nanase Ohkawa (now listed as Ageha Ohkawa outside anime), directors Shunsuke Tada (Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) and Tsutomu Mizushima (xxxHOLiC, xxxHOLiC: Kei, xxxHOLiC the Movie: A Midsummer Night's Dream), and the animators at Production I.G Voice actors Sayaka Ōhara, Jun Fukuyama, and Kazuya Nakai will return to the series.
Mizushima has already adapted CLAMP's story about a high school boy who serves a wish-granting witch into two television series and one movie. Del Rey publishes the xxxHOLiC manga in North America, while Funimation has been releasing the first television series and the movie in the same region. The manga's Japanese publisher Kodansha published CLAMP's Tsubasa manga with the bundled three-DVD Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations anime between last November and this past March.
