Junko Mizuno Designs Charity Auction's My Little Pony
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
Manga author and graphic artist Junko Mizuno will be one of the celebrities selected by toy manufacturer Hasbro to create custom My Little Pony figures for a charity auction in September. Each of the creators participating in the project will be given an opportunity to decorate an 18-inch My Little Pony figure with their own designs. The proceeds from the auction will benefit Give Kids the World, a charity foundation that provides "fantasy vacations" to children with life-threatening illnesses.
In addition to Mizuno, the project will involve singers LeAnn Rimes and Deborah Gibson, a former graffiti artist named Claw Money who now designs clothing and accessories, and Spanish illustrator Catalina Estrada. In 2005, Mizuno was of 50 artists who contributed to For the Pony Project, an earlier joint project between Hasbro and Thunderdog Studios in which artists also decorated 18-inch pony figures.
