Esca Team Wins Korean World Cosplay Summit Qualifier

Seung Yong Kong and Kyeuong Min Kong, cosplaying as the Escaflowne movie's Folken and Van Fanel, have been named the winners of the South Korean national preliminary round of the 2008 World Cosplay Summit and will be representing their country at the final competition in August. The Korean contest was held on June 1 at the Everland Cosplay Party event in the city of Yongin.

In addition to the South Korean team, nine others have already been selected. The winning cosplayers from China, France, and Singapore, as well as a second set of Japanese finalists, have yet to be named. A final total of 14 teams will represent 13 countries. The 2008 World Cosplay Summit, which is being organized by the Aichi Television Broadcasting Company, will take place on August 3 in Nagoya, Japan.
