Konami's Quiz Magic Academy Arcade Games Get Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The Konami game developer has announced at Tokyo's AOU 2008 Amusement Expo event on Saturday that the AIC studio (Ah! My Goddess, Tenchi Muyo!) will adapt its Quiz Magic Academy games into anime for home video. As their names imply, the Quiz Magic Academy games are set within a magical academy and test players on trivia. Thanks to a nationwide network and Konami's data cards, players can compete with each other from different arcades. The AOU 2008 Amusement Expo is a trade event dedicated to arcade game machines.
Keitarō Motonaga (Getbackers, Amaenaide yo!!, School Days) will direct the original video animation project, and Makoto Uezu (Amaenaide yo!!, School Days, Utawarerumono) will write the scripts. The voice cast of the latest game in the series, Quiz Magic Academy 5, are set to reprise their respective character roles for the anime. Konami also announced a Nintendo DS version of the game series.
