posted on by Egan Loo
The official Japanese website for Macross Frontier, the 25th anniversary project in the Macross robot anime franchise, has marked its grand opening with new images and information. The series is scheduled to premiere in April, with two spinoff manga running in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shonen Ace and Comp Ace magazines. The website's new story section gives a plot introduction and a writeup of "Close Encounter," the first episode which was previewed in December.
The Mechanic section officially makes public the stats for the main robot mecha, the VF-25 variable fighter. It also lists the other vehicles, such as the VF-171, the Macross Frontier fleet itself, the EX-Gear personal powered suit, and the Vajra nemesis. 11 characters are also profiled starting with the main trio: the pilot trainee Alto, the high school student Ranka, and the idol singer Sheryl. It also includes secondary cast members such as the New U.N. government's president, Howard Glass.
