The IESB.net movie website has posted an interview with Kevin Munroe and Tom Tanaka, the co-directors of IMAGI's 2009 computer-graphics film remake of Tatsunoko Production's Gatchaman anime franchise. The website has also revealed three pieces of the movie's concept artwork. In the interview, Munroe confirmed that the film will be an origin story, and Tanaka added, "Fans of the TV show will remember that they never talked about how the Gatchaman started, how the war between the Gatchaman and [the antagonist] Galactor started….” The directors also confirmed that the story starts in the 22nd century on Earth before an alien invasion.
Munrose indicated the staff's uncertainty over the American release's title. The name of one of the American adaptations, "G-Force," may be used instead of Gatchaman, although American producer Jerry Bruckheimer is planning a different 2009 film with actor Nicholas Cage that also has the "G-Force" title.
