Kemeko Deluxe! Sci-Fi Love Comedy Manga Gets Animated
posted on by Egan Loo
An anime adaptation of Masakazu Iwasaki's Kemeko Deluxe! manga has been announced at the Dengeki 15th Anniversary event in Tokyo on November 24. The January issue (on sale November 27) of MediaWorks' Monthly Dengeki Comic Gao! magazine will also make an announcement about the anime.
The manga (which is subtitled "The Unknown Girl Friend" in English) centers on a typical high school boy and a super-deformed, doll-like robot that suddenly appears in his bedroom. The robot declares itself to be the boy's wife, and only then does a beautiful girl emerge out of the robot's mouth. The girl turns out to be someone who was promised the boy's hand in marriage ten year earlier.
Iwasaki has released three volumes of the manga so far. Iwasaki had previously created Popo Can, a gag manga about a fifth-grade videogame fan and a beer-guzzling role-playing game heroine who jumps out of his screen.
