Gonzo to Preview Druaga Anime at Tokyo Game Show
posted on by Egan Loo
Tokyo Game Show 2007 has announced the details on its sponsor and stage areas Tuesday, and revealed that the Gonzo Rosso game company will hold a conference tentatively titled "Press Conference on The Tower of Druaga Project Announcement" on September 20 at 3:00 p.m. The schedule says that the company will show a promotional video of the entire project as well as videos specifically describing the anime and game versions — effectively announcing that an anime adaptation is moving forward.
The Tower of Druaga was Namco's popular 1984 maze adventure game in Japan that was imported overseas in the Namco Museum compilations for videogame consoles, as well as through several English-translated sequels. Gonzo Rosso's parent company, Gonzo Digimation Holdings, had announced in March of 2006 that it secured the rights to make an online game and anime versions of the franchise. Gonzo Rosso has been planning to launch the online game version in the later half of 2007, and the Gonzo animation company has planned to release the anime version in 2008.
