Japan's Four Big Film Companies Open Official Database
posted on by Egan Loo
The Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan, an alliance of four of the largest Japanese movie companies (Shochiku, TOHO, Toei, and Kadokawa Pictures), has opened the official MPPAJ database of movies in August. The database currently contains the movies made or distributed by its member companies from 2000 and later. The association plans to update the database with the member companies' entire film libraries.
Users can search the database by each movie's title, cast, staff, production companies, distributor, description, and story. Users can also browse by title, year, cast, staff, company, or series. Among other works, the database contains 15 Doraemon movies, 10 One Piece movies, four Godzilla movies, and the Vexille - 2077 Nippon Sakoku movie.
