Two New Manga/Novel Magazines Starting in Japan
posted on by Egan Loo
The publisher Miraisyounen debuted a magazine called Moe Star—short for "Moero, Stardom"—on April 20. The bimonthly "revolutionary magazine for moe" features manga, a serialized novel, illustrations, and CG art lessons. According to the publisher, what makes Moe Star unique among other magazines is that all of its manga and novel titles are being made into games.
Another niche publisher, Alchemist, confirmed at its Alche-Festival 2007 event this past Sunday that it will publish a new online light novel magazine called Shōnen Alchemist on May 1. The first free "issue" will include four all-new serialized novels in monthly blogs—with staggered updates so that at least one novel gets a new installment every week.
