Anime at the Egyptian Theater on March 31st
posted on by George Phillips
Two animated features, one from Korea and one from Japan, will be shown at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood on March 31st.
The first film of the day is the Korean-produced Sci-Fi animation "Aachi & Ssipak". Aachi and Ssipak is about a world powered by human waste, with the government controlling the populous.
The anime feature of the day is "The Girl Who Lept Through Time", by Mamoru Hosoda. This film is about a girl who gains the power to travel back and forth through time, and uses it extensively to improve her grades and patch up relationships with friends. In doing so, she invariably makes other matters worse.
Following the two films will be a panel discussion on Korean and Japanese animation with special guests Bum-Jin Joe (Director of Aachi & Ssipak) and Mamoru Hosoda.
Seating is highly limited, and reservations can be made at www.kccla.org or www.jflalc.org.
