"The Giants of Anime Are Coming"

The September issue of Wired Magazine (Issue 12.09, with Arnold Schwarzenegger on the cover) has a story about the rising popularity of anime, titled "The Giants of Anime Are Coming."
The story also spotlight three of Japan's most renowned animation directors, Katsuhiro Ōtomo, Mamoru Oshii and Hayao Miyazaki. It discusses their past works and entry into the anime industry, as well as their highly anticipated new movies, Innocence Ghost in the Shell, Steamboy and Howl's Moving Castle.
Also covered is the history of anime, looking back briefly at the works of Osamu Tezuka and the woodblock predecessors of manga.
