Toei Animation has announced that it will launch two new labels
The first label is to be called Animaister and will produce anime geared towards middle aged viewers. Starting with the first release in March 2004, Toei is planning to release three to five titles a year under the label. Due to the widespread adoption of the DVD player in Japanese homes, Toei feels that even these titles will find enough people willing to pay for them.
The second label, called Ganime, will be for illustrated documentaries. Under this label Toei will release on DVD a documentary about the late, legendary singer Yutaka Ozaki.
