Annie Award Winners
posted on by Christopher Macdonald
Anime mostly shut out.
Although nominated in several categories, Satoshi Kon's Millennium Actress was not presented with any Annie Awards at the 2004 awards ceremony held on Saturday night.
The closest thing to an anime winning an award was The Animatrix, which won the award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Home Entertainment Production. The Animatrix is a compilation of Matrix related short animations, many of which were directed and produced by well known figures in the anime industry
Millennium Actress had been nominated for the following awards:
Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Theatrical Feature
Directing in an Animated Feature Production - Satoshi Kon
Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production - Miyoko Shōji as the voice of Chiyoko Fujiwara
Writing in an Animated Feature Production - Satoshi Kon, Sadayuki Murai
