Video Research Co. announced today that the Japanese TV premiere of Spirited Away on the 24th acquired an average rating of 46.9% in the Tokyo area, topping topping Kitakitsune Monogatari's ("The Fox Story ") ratings record of 44.7% set in August 1979 on Fuji TV.
