White Rain Cancellation Update

Fanboy Entertainment reports that they are disappointed to have to cancel Serial Experiments Lain character designer Yoshitoshi ABe's manga "White Rain", especially after the success with his art book ESSENCE.
The main reason it was canceled was due to low orders, and production and printing difficulties. Rain was done entirely in pencil and the sound effects were handwritten on the the art.
This is made re-lettering the book to English while keeping the same quality very time consuming and costly. Yoshitoshi ABe is strict about the artistic integrity of all his work and the low numbers combined with the high production costs made publishing White Rain impossible at this time.
Fanboy Entertainment apologize to all of Yoshitoshi ABe's fans.
