According to Anime News Service, Leiji Matsumoto has calmed speculation possibility that the recent ruling regarding Yamato migh derail the New Space Battleship Yamato series. According to a Japanese Infoseek Article Matsumoto has secured the necessary rights to produce the new series regardless of the question of who created the original series.
