According to a post on the Anime on DVD forums, a Viz advertisement featuring Ayashi no Ceres (renamed Ceres, Celestial Legend) DVDs is currently running in Animerica Magazine. The listing slates a release date for 2001.
In a later post on the thread, Jim Lazar mentions: "Looks like it'll be 3 eps per DVD, so 24 eps / 3 = 8 discs."
