A new high for anime fans on the net

Lycos has made it a habit to watch the top searches on the net (at least on their site) every day at the Lycos Top 50. After spending many months lagging just behind the main contenders, mainstream anime hit Dragon Ball has taken the throne today as the number one searched for item on Lycos. Thanks to Cartoon Network and Viz, the popularity of both the anime and manga have soared high enough to reach number one, beating out both music trading community Napster (3) and teen pop queen (or is it pop teen queen?) Brittany Spears (2). Just goes to show how much anime is kicking its way into mainstream American life.
