Metropolis Screenshots

AnimeNation has posted a scan from Newtype Magazine of the first Metropolis images to be published.
The $10 million Anime, which has been in production for the past 5 years and is entirely digitally animated, is currently under production at Madhouse Studios. The Metropolis is based on the original Manga of Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy, Kimba), and has been written for the screen by Katsuhiro Ōtomo (Akira, Domu) and is directed by Rin Taro (X, Galaxy Express, Battle Angel).
Fans of the 51 year old story will be happy to know that the film retains the original character designs.
