All,
I wanted to share this HUGE NEWS with you all. We just received word that Disney has canceled the 8/29 DVD release of Princess Mononoke w/ out the Japanese language track in anticipation of a release with the original Japanese Track.
Here is their official statement to the online DVD stores:
> The scheduled 8/29 release of the DVD version of PRINCESS MONONOKE has
> officially been cancelled.
>
> Princess Mononoke will be released to rental VHS on August 29, but the DVD
> version will be held until further notice. No new release date has yet
> been set. Rationale for this decision is based on the anticipation of the
> availability of the original Japanese language track and possible
> additional bonus materials.
At VSDA DVD Talk delivered a petition to Disney with over 4500 names, petitioning them to release Princess Mononoke with the original Japanese language track, this decision is a HUGE endorsement for the power of online sites!
