Mixx Entertainment gets into Video
posted on
Mixx Entertainment, publishers of the English manga magazine known as "Mixx Zine", have unofficially announced plans to get into the video business. However, unlike its current titles (which include Sailor Moon and Magic Knights Rayearth, among others), its video division is starting things off on a more obscure note.
Their first release will be "Kenji's Spring", Shōji Kawamori's TV special that celebrated what would have been noted Japanese author Kenji Miyazawa's 100th birthday. The special was originally aired in 1997, and had additional computer-generated footage added for the home video release.
Mixx Entertainment editor-in-chief Ronald Scovil Jr. noted that although dubbed and subtitled versions have been produced (under the supervision of Shōji Kawamori himself), US release information is still being decided, but they are in the process of approaching TV and distribution executives. The dubbed version was premiered at various conventions across the country.
