Machi Asobi Event Issues Statement After Man Allegedly Takes Photos in Restroom
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Machi Asobi vol.20 event last weekend had plenty of highlights, including a tournament based on the retro-style RUN!RUN! Lancer! video game and opportunities to meet some of the staff and cast from the current anime season. Despite what was otherwise a fun-filled event, organizers for Machi Asobi issued a statement on Tuesday revealing that at least one attendee's actions put a damper on it.
Allegedly, an attendee saw voice actress Yūki Takada enter the restroom at a restaurant in Tokushima city, the same city the Machi Asobi events are held. After Takada left the restroom, the attendee went inside to supposedly the same toilet stall and took images of the toilet seat that Takada allegedly used, including a photo of the individual touching the toilet seat. They then shared the images on Twitter.
Machi Asobi's statement regarding the incident mentions that if such incidents continue to occur, the anime events may not continue. Tokushima city relies on the trusting relationship between staff and talents and the public to put on these events.
Takada voiced Aoba Suzukaze in the New Game! anime series, Yui in Mitsuboshi Colors, and Eruma in Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. She was at Machi Asobi for the "Shueisha Anime Presentation" event. The event revealed details about the October premiere of Mikage Kasuga's Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc to Renkin no Kishi anime series. Takada will voice the character Philip.
