Manga Characters Dress Up as Kaito Kid for Halloween Project

Shogakukan's manga characters are getting in the Halloween spirit. The main characters of ten series are dressing up as Magic Kaito's Kaito Kid for the publisher's Halloween promotion this year. A website for the campaign opened on Friday.
In addition to Magic Kaito, the manga participating in the project are Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Queens Quality, Shitsuji-tachi no Chinmoku, Koi Furu Colorful, Maō de Oyasumi, Wagahai no Heya de Aru, Neko no Otera no Chion-san, Violence Action, Ningyo-hime no Gomen ne Gohan, and Kotarō wa Hitori Gurashi. People who buy designated volumes of seven of the series from certain bookstores in Japan will receive one Halloween campaign postcard for each volume.
The project is also offering a special sticker set for the LINE messaging and social media app. In addition, people who cosplay as Kaito Kid and tweet pictures of themselves with the campaign hashtag have a chance to win one of five Halloween cards with a handwritten message from manga creator Gōshō Aoyama. The Twitter campaign will end on Halloween.
For the first time in about 10 years, Gōshō Aoyama's Magic Kaito manga received a new book publication in July. Aoyama's Detective Conan collaborated for live-action commercials celebrating the release of the Magic Kaito's fifth volume.
