Kanna Hashimoto Reminds Us Not to Pack Heat in Movie Theaters
posted on by Eric Stimson
Kanna Hashimoto, an actress (Ritsu in the live-action Assassination Classroom) and member of the J-pop group Rev. from DVL, is here to remind us of proper theater etiquette... and promote her upcoming film, Sailor Suit and Machine Gun: Graduation.
The video introduces us to Izumi Hoshi, teenage head of the Medaka-gumi, and her fellow characters and yakuza members, none of whom are very well-mannered. First is Doi, her waka-gashira (right-hand man), who yells too much. Then there's the head of her rival gang, the Hamaguchi-gumi, who smokes. And there's Tsukinaga, also from the Hamaguchi-gumi, who talks on his cell phone. Hoshi reminds us not to emulate them. Also, don't bring machine guns into the theater.
Sailor Suit and Machine Gun will be released in Japanese theaters on March 5. The movie's trailer tells the story of how Hoshi, despite her best efforts to lead a regular high school girl's life, gets pulled back into the violent yakuza lifestyle when one of her classmates mysteriously dies.
Hashimoto has experienced a surge of popularity as of late, with both men and women choosing her as the cutest idol. She has starred in a devilish lipstick commercial and an instant noodle commercial with some impressive stunts.
