Idol Festival Planned For Uninhabited Okinawa Island

Idols will turn a deserted Okinawa Island into a musical "resort" for this year's Senegajima Girls PoP Festival in July. Japanese idols far and wide will appear on Senagajima on July 5-6 to participate and help raise tourism for the Tomigusuku area of Okinawa. While the island itself is more or less abandoned, its location is relatively close to the Naha Airport and can be reached from Okinawa by car. Several U.S. military bases, including Camp Kinser, are also close to Senegajima.

The festival's line-up currently includes: Idol College, Akishibu Project, Afilia Saga, HR, AeLL, Neko Izuko, CoverGirls, GALETTe, KNU, The Possible, Mai Kotone, Seishun Tropical Maru, Tsubasa Fly, DiNity, Hōkago Princess, palet, Flap Girls' School, predia, Yamaguchi Kassei Gakuen, Love Android, and special guests Yuko Nakazawa and Kei Yasuda.

Weekend tickets are 7,000 yen (~US$70). Check out some of the idols' latest videos below:
