posted on by Bamboo Dong
Prime Minister Shinzō Abe made time on May 5 to swing by the Evangelion and Japanese Swords Exhibit at the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris. Abe was enthusiastic about the spread of Japanese culture and said to reporters, "Anime is very popular in France. It showcases Japan's strengths and is positive for growth."
The Evangelion exhibit includes a 3 meter long replica of the Spear of Longinus, as well as other Evangelion-themed blades. It will be in Paris until June 21, after which it will be relocated to the ABC Museum of Madrid from July 5 to September 28.
France is one of the stops on Abe's six-nation tour of Europe. While there, he met with French president Francois Hollande regarding trade and security issues.
