Oldcodex to Hold Free Outdoor Concert in Tokyo Park
posted on by Eric Stimson
The Japanese rock band OLDCODEX will hold a free concert called "A Showcase, Within the Roar" in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park on April 2. Seating is first come, first served — except for a space in front of the stage, which can be reserved by buying OLDCODEX's latest album, A Silent, Within the Roar, at the nearby Aiia Theater on the same day. CDs go on sale at 11 AM and customers are asked not to wait around all night before so as not to "disturb the neighbors." In addition to the regular edition, Aiia Theater will also be selling a limited edition, which comes with a DVD of the music video for the new song "Seek your turn" as well as a making-of video and a 36-page art book. The concert starts at 6:30 PM.
OLDCODEX has provided songs for anime such as Kuroko's Basketball, Arata: The Legend and Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club. Incidentally, its frontman, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, has voiced characters in all three (Kazunari, Akachi and Makoto, respectively). A Silent, Within the Roar includes "Rage on," Free!'s opening song, and "WALK," Kuroko's Basketball's second season's ending theme.
