Kaiyodo to Release Eva Unit 08+02 from Final Eva Film

Kaiyodo's newest Evangelion figure is from a movie that's not even out yet. The trailers for the final Rebuild of Evangelion movie show a new Eva unit, Unit 08+02, characterized by its red and pink coloration, leading to speculation that it is salvaged from two previous Evangelion units, Eva-02 and Eva-08.
Although a release date for the last movie hasn't been announced yet, Kaiyodo is already releasing a figure for Eva Unit 08+02. The figure is a special model from Kaiyodo Revoltech Yamaguchi, and will be called, "Revoltech Yamaguchi No.EX Evangelion Unit 08+02 - New Evangelion: Q Next Film Trailer Version."
The figure will commemorate the two-year anniversary of the opening of the official Evangelion Store, Evangelion Store Tokyo-01 in Harajuku, Tokyo. A special preview model of the figure will be displayed at the Evangelion Store from September 21 until October 13. There will also be a black and white version on display.
The figure is priced at 4,480 yen ($45.40), and can be bought directly from the Eva store in Harajuku, online from the online Eva store, through Figure King magazine, or from Monoshop. Pre-orders start September 24, with a release date of January 2014.
