Evangelion's Gendō Interviewed in Schick Razor Campaign
posted on by Karen Ressler
Japanese razor company Schick, which is collaborating with the Evangelion movies in a promotional campaign for a second year, began streaming two new ads on Wednesday for the collaboration.
The first ad contains a clip from last year's promotional movie, in which Gendō tells Shinji he intends to shave his beard. The ad also shares the details of this year's campaign, which the company previously announced last week.
As a part of the campaign, Schick will hold random drawings for a limited-edition clock with three figures. To enter, those interested must buy certain Schick products and collect three points from their serial code stickers. Hydro 5 razors will also come in sets with figures (Rei, Asuka, EVA-01, or Mark.06). Other sets will have earphone jack accessories with super-deformed figures.
The second video contains an interview with Gendō. He tells the interviewer that he shaved his beard with a Schick Hydro 5 razor, which he likes because he has a thick beard and sensitive skin, and the razor has a smooth feeling that surprised him. When he bought it, he also received an earphone jack accessory featuring a super-deformed Kaworu figure. Gendō then declares the interview is at an end when the interviewer mentions that he can also get Rei and Asuka figurines.
