Tecmo KOEI Games began streaming a promotional video for its Toukiden action game on Friday. The studio Omega-Force, which developed the Musou (Warriors) franchise, is developing the title. Toukiden is slated for release on the PlayStation Vita and PSP systems in Japan in 2013.
Koei Tecmo Games also began streaming promotional videos for several Musou franchise games on Friday. All of these videos are being shown at the ongoing Jump Festa event this weekend.
The promotional video (Jump Festa version) for Dynasty Warriors 8 (Shin Sangoku Musou 7) highlights the game's story mode, introduces some of the more than 70 playable characters, and showcases new battle gameplay features. The tactical action game will ship for the PlayStation 3 console at retail stores for 7,560 yen (about US$90) and in a downloadable version for 6,600 yen (US$78) on February 28.
The Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper (Musou Orochi 2 Hyper) video highlights the game port's unique Wii U gameplay and new characters. The game shipped as a launch title for the Wii U console in Japan on December 8.
The original Musou Orochi 2 game, titled Warriors Orochi 3 in North America and Europe, features more than 120 characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors game franchises, original characters from the Musou Orochi franchise, as well as characters from outside the Musou series. Warriors Orochi 3 will get a Western release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PlayStation 3 version will only be available via digital download in the United States.
The Shin Sangoku Musou Slash and 100 Mannin no Musou Orochi social games are also currently available from GREE, the developer and maintainer of one of the largest mobile phone game platforms and social networking services in Japan.
