Kojima: Project: Ogre Game Will Deal With Taboo Issues
posted on by Joseph First
As his Metal Gear Solid series was inducted into the Smithsonian's Art of Video Games exhibit, Hideo Kojima spoke about his upcoming game Project: Ogre and some of his ambitions for it. "The game I'm working on right now is dealing with quite a few issues that are pretty delicate and taboo…. I'm not sure if they'll end up being in the final product or not, but that's something that I want to continue to strive for.” Kojima added that he wants to spotlight several real world issues in the upcoming Project: Ogre. As Project: Ogre is still under wraps, he declined to say more.
Kojima did however note that Project: Ogre would not likely be making an appearence on Nintendo's Wii U. "The way the player interacts with Wii U is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game...I don't want any misconceptions that the Fox Engine is specific to a certain hardware platform, because it's not. The way we envision it, it's more this platform that isn't mounted to a particular hardware.”
