Madhouse to Animate Persona 4: The Golden's Opening
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
This week's issue of Enterbrain's Weekly Famitsu magazine announced on Thursday that the anime Studio Madhouse (Chihayafuru, Summer Wars) will create the opening animation for the Persona 4: The Golden game. The role-playing game will be a port of the original Persona 4 video game that was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2008.
Famitsu revealed that players will be able to obtain a motorcycle license in the game that will allow characters to use the "Bike Pursuit" move during battle and participate in special events. The issue also announced that the character Yukiko will be able to summon the golden ultimate persona Sumeoomikami.
Katsura Hashino, who directed the original game, is returning as producer, Shigenori Soejima is returning to design the characters, and Shoji Meguro will again handle the soundtrack. The game publisher Atlus is currently streaming various television commercials and a mini promo for the game.
Persona 4: The Golden will be released in Japan in spring 2012.
