The Japanese publisher Bandai Namco Games began streaming 14 videos for its Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable game on Thursday. The company reposted the game's first promotional video, which it originally streamed in August, along with a promotional video for the Kirameki School Life SP: the wonder years dating simulation game that will be bundled with the game's release.
The company is also streaming 12 other 31-second commercials for the games, which feature different characters or pairs of characters narrating.
The game adapts Yomi Hirasaka's Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai romantic comedy light novels, and a television anime adaptation of the story aired last year. In the story, Kodaka Hasegawa is a half-Japanese/half-British transfer student whose delinquent-like blonde hair scares people, while Yozora Mikazuki is a seemingly perpetually sullen girl. The two decide to form Rinjinbu, a club for people with hardly any friends.
The game follows an original scenario and uses a "Live 2D" animation feature for the onscreen characters. The limited edition version of the game, which includes additional game software, a DVD, a special art box, and a dating simulation game, will be available for the retail price of 10,980 yen (about US$140). The retail price of the regular version is 6,800 yen (about US$90).
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable will ship for Sony's PlayStation Portableplatform on February 23.
