MangaGamer Plans Visual Novel-Styled Guide of Japan

Edelweiss/Kira Kira developer Overdrive aims Go Go Japan at 1st-time visitors

The visual novel distributor MangaGamer confirmed on Saturday that it will be releasing Go Go Japan ~My First Trip~, a tour guide to Japan created in the form of visual novel software. The bishōjo game developer Overdrive (Edelweiss, Kira Kira, Dear Drops) is creating Go Go Japan, and MangaGamer estimates that it will release the software for Microsoft Windows in the second or third quarter. Fujimaru (Kira Kira Curtain Call, Dear Drops) is illustrating the project. Overdrive revealed the game during the panel it shared with MangaGamer at last year's Anime Expo.

In Go Go Japan, the player assumes the role of a university student studying abroad. During the student's first week in Japan, two sisters at the home which he is staying act as tour guides. The sisters show the player around common tourist destinations and explain various aspects of Japan such as its rail system and food.

Unlike a number of games in MangaGamer and Overdrive's catalogs, Go Go Japan will be rated as acceptable for all ages. A launch price has yet to be determined.
