Jared Padalecki to Dub Entire Supernatural Anime Season
posted on by Egan Loo
The publicity staff at Warner Brothers Japan revealed on their official Twitter account last month that Jared Padalecki, the co-lead actor on the American live-action television series Supernatural, will dub all 22 episodes of Madhouse's first anime season. However, co-star Jensen Ackles will only dub the last two episodes of Supernatural the Animation's first season. The original live-action series follows the Winchester brothers Sam (Padalecki) and Dean (Ackles) as they hunt creatures and other supernatural phenomena across the American landscape.
The producers had already revealed that Yūya Uchida (Soul Eater's Dr. Franken Stein, Naruto Shippūden's Rinji) and Hiroki Touchi (Trinity Blood's Abel Nightroad, Bokurano's Kokkpelli) will dub Sam and Dean, respectively, in Japanese. (They already do the same for the live-action version in Japan.) The Japanese singer and actor Gackt will also voice the recurring character Andy in Japanese. The character Andy will appear in the first anime season's finale, "All Hell Breaks Loose" or "Erabareshimono-tachi" (The Chosen Ones).
According to the official website for the anime, the DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of the anime will launch in Japan on February 23 with Japanese/English soundtracks and Japanese/English subtitles. The Zap2it website's blog reported on Wednesday that "a U.S. version is expected to be released on DVD" but neither Warner Brothers Japan nor Warner Bros. Television in the United States has officially announced an American release.

Update: The Warner on Demand service began hosting a free stream of the first anime episode on Wednesday, but the stream is region-blocked outside of Japan.
