Detective Conan Manga Takes 4-Issue Break
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
This year's 23rd issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced on Wednesday that Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan manga will take a four-issue break, from the 24th through 27th issues. Aoyama will conduct research during the hiatus.
The manga previously took two other one-month breaks from January to February and in the magazine's 16th through 18th issues in March-April. Aoyama also conducted research during those two breaks.
Weekly Shonen Sunday previously noted that Meitantei Conan: Zero no Tea Time (Detective Conan: Zero's Tea Time), the spinoff manga series by Takahiro Arai centering on the character Tōru Amuro, will have new chapters when the main Detective Conan manga is on hiatus, and will not publish chapters of the manga otherwise.
Arai (Tenshō no Quadrable, Cirque du Freak) launched the Meitantei Conan: Zero no Tea Time manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday in May 2018. Aoyama has "complete supervision" over the work.
