 After making a dramatic escape from Grandis and her henpecked henchmen in an untested airplane, Jean and Nadia are forced to make an emergency landing in the mid-Atlantic. As luck would have it, the intrepid young youths are rescued by a U.S. battleship on a "top secret" mission to get to the bottom of recent rumors of SEA MONSTERS which have reportedly terrorized the well-traveled Atlantic sea lanes and have been blamed for sinking many commercial and military vessels. But the two young adventurers soon learn that the battleship's real mission is to hunt down and destroy the "sea beast" on sight.
 Nadia hopes to persuade the officers and crewmen on board the battleship that it is morally wrong to destroy something simply because you do not understand it.
 Her pleas fall on deaf ears as the battleship prepares to fire on not one, but two massive "sea monsters".
