Description:
MEGATOKYO 2032 AD • THE STORY OF THE KNIGHT SABERS • VOLUME 3
It is the year 2032 A.D. The city of MegaTokyo is busy rebuilding itself in the aftermath of the Second Great Kanto Earthquake. Looming over a city still half in ruins is a huge conical tower: the headquarters of Genom, an international corporation that has grown rich from its control of "Boomer" technology.
Boomers: a combination of biotechnology, mechatronics, and artificial intelligence. First designed for hazardous duty in space, it was soon discovered that these artificial life-forms have any earthly uses -- not all of them benign. Although they promise to free mankind from all types of menial labor, in the wrong hands, they can be perverted into soul-less highly intelligent engines of destruction.
And they ARE in the wrong hands . . .
One group, however, not only knows the truth, but has the power to do something about it -- The Knight Sabers. A group of 4 female mercenaries equipped with advanced "Hard Suits," they have the ability to take on the Boomers 1 on 1 -- and win.
In episodes 1-3, the Knight Sabers had their first run-in with Genom, and with the nefarious Brian J. Mason, special assistant to Quincy, Genon's Chairman, climaxing in a duel to the death on the top of Genom Tower, and the death of Mason.
For Genom, this was but a minor setback; its power and political clout increases daily.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, other forces plot to use Boomer technology to reshape the world into a form more to their tastes...
In episode 5, "Moonlight Rambler," a small group of women make a desperate escape from an orbiting habitat. Only two make it, only to have their shuttle crash-land outside MegaTokyo. Soon after, a string of vampiric attacks begins. Leon suspects a Genom coverup, and sends Daley into orbit to make inquiries.
Meanwhile, Priss has a new friend, a pretty girl whom everyone seems to instantly take a liking to. But what secret is she hiding?
When Daley reports that the prototype combat suit that was aboard the shuttle is equipped with a nuclear "deadman switch." a search beings: one that will end in a terrible choice for Priss -- between death, and Death!
And, in the shadows, a dark figure lurks...
In episode 6, "Red Eyes," Largo, the mysterious stranger from episode 5, is out to frame the Knight Sabers using lookalike Boomers. It's his way of keeping them busy while he prepares his assault on his real target, Quincy, Chairman of Genom.
When Largo reveals himself to be not at all what he appears to be, the Knight Sabers must battle for their lives, and Priss, for the sake of friendship, will find herself outgunned, outnumbered, out of luck and out of time, in a fight that will determine the fate of humanity!
