As do all Ghibli film shorts, this title can only be seen in the Ghibli Museum. It is not available for home video.
The story has similarities with "Jack and the Beanstalk" but has a science fiction twist. The seed bought from a mysterious man turns into a planet, not a beanstalk, and the boy goes onto the planet instead of climbing the beanstalk.
