The password into KOS-MOS' subconcious, "Ye shall be as gods" was spoken by the serpent to Eve while tempting her to eat the forbidden fruit.

Kirschwasser, the designation for the 100-series Observational Realians, is also the name of a German brandy made from black cherries, doubtless a subtle allusion to the girl (Sakura, which means "cherry blossom") on whom their design is based.

Zohar, the name of the monolith which appears in the series, is taken from the name of a group of books that form the most important work of the Jewish Kabbalah.

ADV Films paid $120,000 to license the series in 2007.
