Trivia:
Ideon was the biggest influence for Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Ideon was originally to be 43 episodes and was fully planned for such. It unfortunately had the plug pulled after 39.
Ideon was the project Yoshiyuki Tomino worked on directly after the cancellation of the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
Episode 27 contains a brief space battle scene that is very similar to the "trench run" sequence in "Star Wars IV: A New Hope."
Gundam cameos are frequent in Ideon. Haro from Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) makes frequent appearances. Amuro (MSG) is in episode 9. Char (MSG) appears two times on posters throught the series. Also, the director, Yoshiyuki Tomino, appears briefly in episode 7.
