Evangelion's Rei Ayanami

In the above image, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Rei Ayanami, one of the female leads in Hideaki Anno's Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. In the original 1995 television series, Rei pilots the EVA-00 unit and is the first pilot that the protagonist Shinji Ikari meets. Both pilots work for Nerv, a paramilitary organization devoted to defending humanity against the Angels, a series of invaders.
The photo was taken at the 2009 New York Comic Con, which took place February 6 to 8 in New York City.
