Muv-Luv Rights Holder Ixtl Changes Name to anchor
posted on by Karen Ressler
Game developer Age announced on July 6 that its rights management company Ixtl will change its name to "anchor." The company's URL has changed to ancr.jp and the website teases a "New project coming soon."
Age founded Ixtl in 2011 as a rights management company for its intellectual property, particularly for the Muv-Luv franchise. Avex Pictures acquired a controlling stake in Ixtl in 2017 after previously managing the distribution for many Ixtl products such as game software and anime home video releases. Age noted in September that, under the acquisition, it plans "to pursue anime and game adaptations of [its] core business content while simultaneously engaging in active overseas development."
Ixtl previously launched a successful Kickstarter campaign alongside publisher Degica to localize its Muv-Luv game series. Ixtl and Degica released the game in July 2016.
Axex Pictures and Graphinica announced earlier this month that they have jointly established the "Flagship Line" company to produce anime, game, and VR content.
