The Bushiroad Expo hit India for the first time ever at Mumbai Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday. Representatives from the company stated that while the company has no market presence in India just yet, it is looking to gauge interest for its IPs and products in the Indian market with this exhibition.

The main draw for conventioners at the Bushiroad Expo 2025 were demo tables and displays for trading card games such as Cardfight!! Vanguard as well as the Weiß Schwarz card game and its Nikke expansion. The exhibition also had a Palverse corner, video game demos, and a voice synthesizer demo for BanG Dream! AI Singing Synthesizer Yumenokessho.

ANN inquired if the company's promotional plans for India mainly include video games for the time being. The reps stated that is all Indian fans can look forward to for now, but the company is looking to build a presence in the country and is looking into interest from audiences, licensors, and retailers.

As far as interest is concerned, many fans lined up in front of the card game tables to learn the ropes. While the company does not have plans to release its TCG properties in stores anytime soon, older fans found their calling, with many of them queueing up to play the demo of the 2D 3v3 fighting game based on Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter manga titled Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact. Bushiroad Games and Eighting will launch the Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact game on July 17 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The exhibition also hosted a demo for the Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days2 sequel game that recently released for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on January 30.

The models on display in the Palverse corner weren't on sale at the exhibition, but that didn't stop them from being a hot commodity, much like the displays at Bandai Namco's convention booths and pop-up stores. Anime fans and gaming enthusiasts gathered for photo ops with the adorable chibi models from Sonic the Hedgehog, One-Punch Man, and Chainsaw Man.

Even though Mumbai's iteration of Comic Con used to be called the Mumbai Film & Comic Con back in the day, the lack of music enthusiasts at the event left the Yumenokessho demo feeling a little bit neglected. The possibility of an India-specific release for the software is exciting for indie and hobbyist music producers alike. Considering how much India loves a certain blue-haired voice synthesizer, both Yumenokessho's price point and intuitive interface have the potential to be a far more accessible competitor in the region.

Bushiroad Expo was an amazing addition to Mumbai Comic Con's “Gaming Zone” that was enjoyed by TCG enthusiasts, video gamers, and fans of Japanese pop-culture. One can only hope that, much like Bandai Namco's convention booths and Mumbai Pop-Ups, the exhibition leads the way for more Bushiroad merch entering India.
