It's a real shame Vertical wasn't able to keep going with this series. It's a fun read, and something I've given as a gift to my oenophile friends.
I take it the final chapter will reveal the titular "drops of God"? Can't wait to see what happens with the sales of that wine when it's revealed (unless the DoG turns out to be something abstract, like "the first wine you shared with a lover" or something) |

Seems this series' effect on wine has lost momentum over the years.

Awww man. I really hope Vertical can release the rest. I suppose the series always had a definite end point in sight, which helps. I'm kind of glad it's not going on forever.

So, will they collect all the dragon balls and wish for the Ultimate Wine?

Have the English vols 1-4 and the New World one Vertical released.
When are the rest coming out? It's been awhile? Is it just in haitus? Were sales bad in north America? Was it dropped??? |

It's unfortunate. I don't even drink alcohol and I found this manga interesting. I picked a few volumes up on impulse and it kept me entertained through several long train rides. It reminds me of those live action Asian dramas about aspiring chefs where there's always some sort of competition to create some mythical dish or to use some revolutionary ingredient. I guess it's kind of hard to get an audience for this sort of thing. Maybe it's like sports manga, in that wine enthusiasts would rather pursue their hobby in real life than read a comic about fictional characters doing it. |

There's a post to that effect in the comments for the January ANNCast with Vertical. |

Never in my life as a manga buyer have I gotten a bigger door-slam to the face than when Vertical dropped this.

I admire Vertical's attempt at selling manga to an adult audience, but I would've heeded the warning signs when Futari H bombed for Tokyopop.
