Frozen grossed more than $8 million. For the fourth straight weekend. And its first weekend grossed 7.5.
Anna and Elsa have eclipsed everything else at the Japanese box office. |

BTW, ANN skipped the the B.O. weekend of April 5-6.
Yep, Frozen's lowest weekend so far is its opening weekend - how crazy is that! It has actually been increasing every week for the first 3 weekends, then a small dip on the 4th, then a small rise again on the 5th weekend. Unbelievably steady. It's actually on its 6th weekend now and over $100M, and it'd be interesting next weekend it's the sing-along version. Obviously, the word karaoke comes from Japan, but Japanese typically karaoke in private rooms with friends and at some concerts where everybody sings. Yet it's well-known that Japanese movie theaters are very quiet, and ya would even be shushed for laughing at a funny scene. So seiyuu of Hans and May J, singer of the J-version Let It Go Demi Lovato version, sang together with 500+ fans on TV to promote the sing-along version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPYNVlf6Rqo Funny video with cosplayers. Reminds us of Rocky Horror Picture Shows. |
